This was originally designed for 2014 & up GM trucks with HIR2 headlights. It is now used with many vehicles from 2014 & up including 2016 & up Ram trucks. It is NOT used with 2017 & up Ford trucks, they have their own Ford specific Modules. It is referred to as a "Soft Start" Module in that it powers both sets (plow and truck) of lights for a couple of seconds and then fades to the one that should be on. It is also used on 2015 & up Dodge Ram trucks. The reason is that the truck BCM is so sensitive that it "sees" the load shift of the lights from the truck to the plow an thinks it is a short, so it shuts off the headlight circuit. This solves that problem. It is important that the (2) red wires, with 5 amp fuse each, of the adapter “B” harness be connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery. DO NOT connect both red wires together and attach to the positive post of the vehicle battery with a single 5 amp fuse. During the process of turning on/off the plow lights, the plow light and vehicle lights are being initially powered with the red wires with 5 amp fuses. During switching of lights from plow to vehicle or vehicle to plow both vehicle and plow lights will be on for a couple seconds which is normal operation for the new module.
